The instructors of the Gracie Barra Cambridge branch, Gez and Kane came to Lisbon with our student Mat to visit Master Alex Machado and do a update of how things are developing on the Cambridge branch and prepare our strategy.
They also took the opportunity to compete in the largest Jiu Jitsu competition in the Iberian Peninsula with the best teams Portugal and Spain.
Master Alex Machado took first in the teams results GB-Lisbon) and our team is now Iberian BJJ Champion 2010.
The competition was very difficult due to the huge Brazilian community in Portugal the level and environment is almost equal to the competitions in Brazil.
Yet the disciples of Master Alex Machado from GB Cambridge representing the sister team GB Lisbon had a spectacular performance and brought to Cambridge a gold medal (kane Chandler) a silver medal (Plate Mat) and bronze (Gez Coville).
